Sneha Daya

SNEHA DAYA, MD (she/her) is an Associate Professor in the Departments of Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. She is a graduate of Albany Medical College and completed her combined Internal Medicine/Pediatrics residency at Christiana Care Health System. Her interests include advancing health equity through medical education and active patient advocacy, improving communication in healthcare through the use of simulation, and improving clinical learning environments via curricular reform and inclusive mentorship/coaching.

She currently serves as the founder of the Internal Medicine Department’s Equity/Inclusion/Diversity (EID) Committee, the Director of Georgetown University’s Health Policy and Public Health course, and the co-lead for the faculty development subgroup of the Racial Justice Committee for Change (RJCC). She has co-led the EID committee of Medstar Hospital's Medicine Clinical Practice Council, working on quality improvement initiatives and raising awareness about EID issues in the health systems across Maryland and DC. Nationally, she serves on the American Board of Pediatrics Bias & Sensitivity Review Task Force.

Clinically, Dr. Daya is a hospitalist at Medstar Georgetown University Hospital and a preceptor in the active Med/Peds resident clinic at Medstar Glover Park. She is also affiliate faculty of the Georgetown University Medical Humanities Initiative, weaving EID topics into the arts. She is currently funded by the Josiah Macy Jr. Foundation to conduct research surrounding improvement of clinical learning environments. More recently, she is working on integrating health equity work with AI models in hospital medicine.
