“Views among Malawian Women about Joining HIV Prevention Clinical Trials when Pregnant”

This AIDS Research and Therapy journal article is based on the pressing need to expand the biomedical HIV prevention evidence base during pregnancy. The research team that includes Maggie Little conducted 35 semi-structured interviews with reproductive-aged women in Malawi, in order to understand their views about participating in biomedical HIV prevention research during pregnancy. Women’s interest in participating is critical to inform evolving policy and best practices aimed at responsibly expanding evidence-based access for this population.
