Call For Papers: 3rd Virtual Global Symposium On Reproduction

The Georgetown University Medical Humanities Initiative, in collaboration with the University of Massachusetts Lowell and Fondazione Sasso Carbaro, invites scholars, artists, clinicians, researchers, and interdisciplinary thinkers to submit abstracts for the 3rd Virtual Global Symposium on Reproduction (Worlds of Birth: Spaces, Practices, & Representations) taking place on October 16, 2026!

This year’s symposium explores the many wats birth is practiced, experienced, imagined, and represented across cultures, histories, environments, and disciplines. We welcome contributions examining topics such as childbirth spaces, midwifery and birthing experiences, reproductive knowlege, enivironmental influences on birth, visual and cultural representations, and more.

Submit a title, 200-word abstract, and short biography by July 15, 2026!
