On June 3, 2021, Toni-Lee Sangastiano presented her work at the 2021 Popular Culture Association’s Annual Conference, which was held virtually between June 2 and 5, 2021. Her talk was titled “Coney Island as a Perpetual Heterotopia”, and was part of the Circus and Sideshow Culture Circus and Sideshow Culture II: Locating the “Other” in Liminal Spaces and Exoticism panel. The Popular Culture Association is a group of scholars and enthusiasts who study Popular Culture—writing, sharing, and publishing in the field.
